Biography

In 1984, authors and producers Karen van Haaren and Tony Hendrick organized a vocal group in the German city of Cologne, deciding to call it Bad Boys Blue. The band members’ stage costumes were blue in color, hence Blue. And Bad Boys translates to “tough guys.” Their first single, “L.O.V.E. In My Car”, was released in the fall of 1984 and was a success in clubs and discos. The single “You’re A Woman”, released in 1985, was a huge success in many European countries.

At the beginning of 2001 the band’s contract with the Coconut label ended, so until the summer of 2002 the band toured extensively and searched for a new record label. In 2004 promotional tour in Russia, Germany, USA, Kevin McCoy took part instead of Mo Russell. In 2005 Andrew Thomas left the band. John McInerney remains in the band, who continues to work, record songs, perform, release albums with Carlos Ferreira, in September 2011 John McInerney decided to finish working with Carlos Ferreira.

The current Bad Boys Blue band is John McInerney and two backup singers, Sylvia McInerney John’s wife and Edith Miracle.
