Usher
American R&B singer Usher is one of the most commercially successful artists of our time. Since the release of his first album “Usher” in 1994, more than 75 million copies of all compilations have been sold out. Now the musician has expanded the field of creative activity: he acts in movies, dances, helps young singers to become stars.
His biography is full of ups and downs, and his musical career is marked by prestigious awards: Grammy Awards, World Music Awards, American Music Award, Billboard Music Awards.
The second album “My Way”, released on September 16, 1997, was successful, nominated for Grammy Awards, went platinum 6 times in the United States. Written with rapper Jermaine Dupri, the single “You Make Me Wanna…” went to number one in the UK, went gold and platinum in the US, and was honored at the Soul Train Music Awards. The second single “Nice & Slow” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The famous track “Yeah!”, which made Usher popular far beyond his native country, was included on the 2004 album “Confessions”. The song stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks, which brought the record incredible popularity: 1.1 million copies sold in the first week (now more than 20 million). Two more tracks, “Burn” and “Confessions Part II”, stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks each.
