Biography

Michael Kenji “Mike” Shinoda is a vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, rapper and co-founder of the rock band Linkin Park, as well as an artist, graphic designer. A talented person is talented in everything. Linkin Park co-founder and vocalist Mike Shinoda can do a lot of things: he writes songs, scripts and music for movies, draws, produces, performs as an MC.

After the death of Chester Bennington, the musician still found the strength to announce on Twitter that life goes on and the band will continue to exist. The song Over Again from the new album is an illustration of what the friends went through and how Linkin Park is preparing for a show in Chester’s memory.

Linkin Park’s debut album Hybrid Theory was an incredible success both financially and in terms of the band’s rise in popularity. The record started at number 16 on the Billboard charts and rose to number two. Mike realized his dream of winning a Grammy, first nominated in the category of Best Rock Album, and in 2002 he picked up the coveted Gramophone for his hard rock performance of the song Crawling. A year later, the music video for this song was honored with a Grammy Award.

Shinoda’s solo career was no less successful. In 2005, Mike released the album The Rising Tied as part of the Fort Minor project, created to realize ideas that did not fit Linkin Park’s style. The single Where’d You Go reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the music video garnered millions of views on YouTube.

The musician also owns The Shinoda Imprint and Machine Shop Recordings.
