Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He is the leader of The E Street Band. Known for his rock songs with poetic lyrics, the main theme of which is his homeland, New Jersey. Bruce Springsteen is one of the greatest musicians in history according to Rolling Stone magazine, who created in his songs a nostalgic and slightly sad image of America in the 1980s. His work is the embodiment of the spirit of old rock’n’roll, all the disappointments and contradictions of that time.

The beginning of the musician’s biography is an ordinary story of a teenager from a poor family. Father Douglas Springsteen was a driver, but often sat without work. Mother, who eventually became the main breadwinner, worked as a court clerk. In addition to Bruce, they had two more girls, Pamela and Virginia.

Springsteen released his first album Greeting From Asbury Park, N. J. (1973), but it sold poorly and attracted little critical attention. The second record The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle, released six months later, suffered the same fate. When Bruce became famous, the public paid attention to the old works, and both disks gained platinum status.

“Shot” only the third album – Born To Run. The triumph was astonishing. By that time Bruce had founded the E-Street Band, and the new group received offers for tours and concerts.
