Richard Marx
Richard Marx is a singer without whom it is impossible to imagine the genre of romantic rock ballads. The American, whose creativity peaked in the late 80s, still captivates listeners with his voice with a slight hoarseness. The artist is known not only as a performer, but also as a songwriter, producer and guitarist. Hits written by him are included in the golden fund of world rock.
Even in his youth, the performer knew that he would connect his life with music. The first teachers of the teenager were his parents, later he took private guitar and piano lessons from famous Chicago musicians. Studying at school, Richard began to perform in clubs, bars, at school parties. However, to conquer the musical Olympus was not as easy as the young man thought.
But still his persistence and efforts bore fruit – the guy was lucky enough to perform on the backing of Madonna and Whitney Houston. Also the dream of the performer’s childhood came true – he managed to work in the studio with his idol Lionel Richie. Marx’s voice sounds backing vocals in Ritchie’s composition All Night Long (1984).
Gradually, the young guitarist recorded his own singles and sent demos to record companies. Composed songs were performed by members of the Chicago project, as well as singer Kenny Rogers. Only 6 years after his arrival in Los Angeles, Marks managed to sign his first serious contract – EMI / Manhattan Records wanted to work with him.
