Biography

Tyga is an American rapper who quickly rose to fame among fans of the genre in 2008, becoming one of the brightest discoveries of the year. Since then, the musician has repeatedly appeared both in the lines of hit parades and on the pages of tabloids, often in quite scandalous materials. Tyga’s real name is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, and his alias’s backronym – Thank you God always translates as “Thank you, God, forever and ever”.

Michael’s cousin, Travis McCoy, a member of the band Gym Class Heroes, began taking the youngster on the team’s tours. During this period Tyga was making mixtapes. McCoy, appreciating his brother’s work, showed his records to Pete Wentz, bassist of Fall Out Boy. The musician, impressed by the young man’s talent, became the executive producer of his first independent album No Introduction.

The song Diamond Life was later used in the game Need for speed: Undercover and the movie “Fight Without Rules”. The rapper hit the big stage in 2007 when he performed the Arms Race remix with McCoy, Fall Out Boy and Lil Wayne at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer’s second album, Careless World: Rise of The Last King, went on sale on February 21, 2012. According to Michael’s statement, the record was meant to show that he had grown up, although he still hadn’t gotten over the child in him. The singles from the album have repeatedly hit the hot hundreds of charts.
