Sia

Pop artist
Biography

Sia is an Australian singer who works in the styles of jazz, folk, soul and pop. Despite the fact that the artist is among the most famous stars of the international scene, she prefers to stay in the shadows. For this reason, Sia never stars in her own music videos and goes on stage wearing a wig that hides her face.

In 1997, Sia moved to London, where she smiled at her luck. In her youth, the singer acted as a backing vocalist in the well-known band Jamiroquai, then released the album Onlysee, and in 2000 signed a contract with the recording company Sony Music.

A year later the debut solo record of the singer HealingIs Difficult, the author of music and lyrics of which became the singer herself, hit the shelves. The disc was liked by listeners and was favorably received by music critics. Then Sia was recognized in Britain, but the rest of Europe, as well as the States, had not yet heard of the talented Australian.

The most famous hit, which the vocalist composed not for herself, was the song Diamonds, performed by Rihanna and headed for a couple of weeks at the top of the charts in more than 20 countries around the world. As Sia herself admitted, she wrote this song in exactly 14 minutes.
