Scooter
Scooter is probably one of the most famous German bands. The hits Fire and How Much Is the Fish? due to their catchy lyrics and dynamic music are even now “blowing up” the world’s dance floors. As of 2019, Scooter has sold more than 40 million albums and continues to write new material.
Scooter progenitors H.P. Baxter, Rick Jordan and Jens Tele met long before the formation of this particular band, in 1986, in Hamburg. The musicians changed several names, tried dozens of genres and even succeeded in Germany before becoming themselves.
The band’s discography includes 19 studio records, the most recent of which is Scooter Forever (2017), 4 live albums and 3 DVD albums, and 70 music videos have been released.
Scooter has spent over 500 weeks on the singles charts and nearly 300 weeks on the album charts. Tops of the music charts at various times have been reached by dozens of hits, the best record for a German artist. Scooter records were awarded gold and platinum certificates more than 80 times, and total sales exceeded 40 million copies.
Scooter’s music was especially crazy popular in the 1990s. The reason for this was not the easily memorable little lyrics, but the samples of long-loved hits.
