Biography

Robyn Miriam Karlsson, better known by her stage name Robyn, is a Swedish artist, singer and songwriter.

Robyn became popular in the late nineties with her dance hits “Show Me Love” and “Do You Know (What It Takes)” from her debut album Robyn Is Here (1997). She co-wrote “Du gör mig hel igen” (You Make Me Whole Again), the song for the 1997 Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s selection contest to represent the country in the international Eurovision Song Contest.

The popularity of her chart-topping single “With Every Heartbeat” and the subsequent release of Robyn’s album Robyn (2005), brought her massive success worldwide. In January 2009, Robyn won Sweden’s Grammis Award for Best Live Performance in 2008.

In June 2010, Robyn released the chart-topping number 1 album Body Talk Pt. 1, the first of a planned trilogy released successively during that year. The album’s lead single “Dancing on My Own” was released weeks before the album and became a worldwide hit, earning the singer a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Dance Recording.

The next album in the trilogy, Body Talk Pt. 2, was released on September 6, going straight to number one on the Swedish charts. The final third album Body Talk was released on November 22. The first single from it was the song “Indestructible”.
