Pop artist
Biography

Ricky Martin, whose real name is Enrique Martin Morales, is a Puerto Rican pop singer, actor and writer who has managed to carve a niche for himself in the music industry with his scintillating appearance. No one expected such a bright takeoff. Solo career of the artist contributed to the promotion of Latin American music on the world market.

The first recorded album in Spanish by Ricky Martin went gold not only in South America, but also in the United States. And hits such as Fuego Contra Fuego and El Amor de Mi Vida went into worldwide radio rotation. Then followed the equally successful disks Me Amarás and A Medio Vivir. The track Maria from the latter became the young singer’s first worldwide hit.

In 1998 Ricky’s new album Vuelve was released, but the main achievement of this year was the performance in the final of the soccer world championship in France with the composition La Copa de la Vida, which was transformed into a kind of anthem of the championship.

By this time, the singer published the English-language album Ricky Martin and released the single Livin’ la Vida Loca. This composition changed the biography of Ricky Martin, and also became a pass ticket to the English-speaking market for other musicians from Latin America. The song became so popular all over the world that it was later used in movie production. For example, in a modified version it was performed in the animated film Shrek 2.
