Biography

Morandi is a Romanian musical group playing in the Eurodance style. The name of the band consists of the names of the vocalists: Mo is Marius Moga and Randi is the pseudonym of Andrei Ropcea. The band was formed in Bucharest, Romania in 2004.

The history of the band’s creation and the lives of its vocalists resembles the creative biography of two other famous musicians – members of Infected Mushroom. Marius Moga and Andrei Ropcea, after moving to Bucharest from their hometowns, started their career by writing and producing lyrics and melodies for their colleagues.

In the noughties fate brought the talented Romanians together, in whose bright heads in 2004 came the idea to record a common romantic track Love Me. But according to the idea of the creators they didn’t reveal their names at first, but distributed the song in local clubs without specifying the authorship.

The single impressed the sophisticated public, and the first success pushed Mogu and Ropca to continue their fruitful cooperation under the Morandi nickname.
