Ludacris
Ludacris (Christopher Bryan Bridges) is an American rapper and actor. Along with members of the duo OutKast, Ludacris was one of the first and most influential performers in the Southern rap genre.
Ludacris is one of the most commercially successful rappers of the XXI century, who in 2014 Forbes magazine dubbed “hip-hop rich man”, his annual income amounted to $8 million. Ludacris was on his way to world fame from the age of 9, and now he is a prominent hip-hop producer, actor and singer.
The peak of the early stage of Christopher Bridges’ biography was his collaboration with Timbaland on his track “Phat Rabbit” from the album “Tim’s Bio: Life from da Bassment” (1998), which became a hit in many countries, including the U.S. and UK. Dallas Austin and Jermaine Dupri were on the list of creative collaborations of the still budding rapper during the same period.
The pseudonym Ludacris accompanies the performer from the first compositions. In an interview with the TV program “Direct Effect” on MTV channel he said that the word reflects his split personality and is based on a mixture of the English epithets “ridiculous” and “ludicrous” (translated as “ridiculous, funny”).
Ludacris is not only a performer, but also a producer. Thanks to his support, Justin Bieber’s tracks “Baby” and Enrique Ingesias’ “Tonight” topped the charts. Shawnna, Bobby Valentino, Playaz Circle and many others have recorded on his label Disturbing Tha Peace.
