Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is an American rap singer. He is the “New King of the West Coast” according to many reputable musicians. The first non-jazz and non-classical musician in history to win a Pulitzer Prize. Kendrick Lamar is an American hip-hop singer with a successful career.He is the first rapper in history to be honored with a Pulitzer Prize. Lamar is considered by many musicians to be the “New King of the West Coast”.

Released in December 2009, “The Kendrick Lamar EP” was the beginning of the performer’s professional journey. The success of the mini-album brought Kendrick to the attention of Top Dawg Entertainment label staff. The first project created by Lamar on TDE was the mixtape “Overly Dedicated”, released on September 23, 2010. Selected tracks from this mixtape can be heard on the tour Lamar did with Tech N9ne and Jay Rock in 2010.

However, the following year, Kendrick terminated his contract with Top Dawg Entertainment and released his full-length debut studio album “Section 80” on July 2. By this point, Lamar had collaborated with Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, The Game, and Snoop Dogg, and XXL mentioned him as one of the promising newcomers of the year.
