K-MARO
Cyril Qamar, best known as K-Maro, is a Canadian singer and music producer of Arab descent.
Kamar formed his first band ‘LES MESSAGERS DU SON’ at the age of 13. The band quickly made a name for itself in Quebec, the cultural capital of Canadian informal music. Several singles became big hits on the local radio charts, which led to the successful release of two albums. A hundred shows later, ‘LES MESSAGERS DU SON’ had already won a number of pan-Canadian awards, such as “Hip-Hop Track of the Year 1999”, “Best Live Show in Montreal 1998” and others.
The tryout was a success, and an emboldened Kamar decided to try his luck on his own, as he was used to doing everything on his own since childhood. He was ready to give it his best, because he knew all too well that otherwise nothing would work out. Shortly after launching his solo career, he became known in Montreal as the “Master of the Lionshow” thanks to his original looks and explosive delivery on stage. Combining his talent as a composer with his own unique style, he became known as K-Maro.
A charismatic personality, artist, producer and unpredictable avant-garde artist, K-MARO creates vibrant and accessible music in a charming gangsta style. At the age of 24 K’MARO managed to conquer France and then the whole Europe. In our country, K-MARO’s music is a breath of fresh air for radio stations and their patient listeners.
