Imanbek, full name Imanbek Zeikenov, is a Kazakhstani DJ and music producer.

The musician knows this firsthand, because he started creating remixes of his first tracks for his own pleasure, and now he has gained worldwide fame under the name Imanbek. His name was recognized by the whole world at the end of 2020, when he received a nomination for a Grammy Award.

Imanbek started writing remixes of popular songs since 2017, having mastered the FL Studio music software from instructional videos. He listened to a lot of music, preferring deep house, tropical house, future bass and hip-hop styles.

He created remixes without expecting success at all, but shared the fruits of creativity on social networks, hoping to get feedback from friends. So, in 2019, Imanbek posted in “VKontakte” rhythmic processing of the song Roses by American rapper Saint Jhn, without thinking about the consequences. And they didn’t make them wait long. The track went viral, quickly surpassing in popularity the original, released back in 2016.

Imanbek faced an unexpected wave of popularity. He still can’t believe that millions of people on the planet dance to his tracks, and ticktockers tirelessly invent new moves for them. Despite the fact that world fame has become a given for the guy, the news of a Grammy nomination for best remix in the fall of 2020 took Zeikenov by surprise.
