ENYA
Enya is an Irish singer, songwriter and film musician. She resides at Manderley Castle in Dublin, Ireland. She is the younger sister of singer Moya Brennan.
Her music is often described as anti-stress, mystical, and Enya herself as a fairy, a mysterious Celtic performer who brought Gaelic tunes to life on twentieth-century CDs. Her albums have sold millions of copies, and she has never given a single concert in her life. The phenomenon of Ireland’s most mysterious star has interested music lovers from all over the world for decades.
The album Watermark brought Enya worldwide popularity. Otherworldly, magical, ethereal vocals, the most complex cutting of vocal parts, a combination of musical instruments and folk Celtic tunes exploded hit parades in many countries of the world. The songs were so different from the usual compositions of the 80s that some critics suggested that the shimmering new-age and folk sound waves were a consequence of taking drugs.
After 20 months, there was a presentation of the disk Shepherd Moons, which lasted in the Billboard charts for 199 weeks, almost 4 years.
