Enrique Iglesias
Enrique Iglesias is one of the world’s most popular representatives of Spanish-speaking music, singer, songwriter and producer. He has received prestigious awards more than once, but the creative biography of the musician began with a difficult start, and all his subsequent achievements and awards were more than deserved.
Enrique from childhood dreamed of becoming a singer, wrote verses for future songs. The endeavors bore fruit in 1994. Mexican FonoMusic signed a contract with the young performer. With a light heart Enrique dropped out of university and went to Canada to record his first album.
In 1995, the single Si Tú Te Vas preceded the release of the debut album Enrique Iglesias, which instantly gained popularity in his native Spain, as well as Portugal and Italy. One million copies sold out in a week. Considering that the album was not in English, the result was phenomenal. The song Por Amarte was even picked up for a Mexican TV series.
In 1997, Iglesias’ second album, Vivir (“To Live”), was released. The performer selected the best musicians with experience working with Elton John, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen, and went on tour, in which he visited 16 countries, playing 78 concerts.
