Eminem

Rap artist
Biography

Eminem is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, composer, music producer, producer and actor. In addition to his solo career, he was a member of the group D12 and the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil. He is one of the best-selling music artists in the world, as well as the best-selling artist of the 2000s.

Marshall was introduced to rap by his uncle, Ronnie Polkinghorne, who was only a few months older than him and became his first mentor in music. “My uncle was actually my best friend,” Eminem said gratefully. Eminem was always interested in an individual career, and already in 1996 he recorded his first solo album “Infinite”. This disk did not arouse much interest in listeners, because Detroit at that time was already so oversaturated with hip-hop.

Later Eminem began to create a new stage image, a kind of alter ego under the pseudonym Slim Shady (Slim Shady). Slim literally with sadistic pleasure praised violence, drugs and even murder, but under this outer shell touched on deeper themes of social injustice, poverty, love and family problems. Such was the mood of his new album “Slim Shady EP”, recorded in the spring of 1997. The CD was ready, but lay unpromoted, and Eminem traveled to the “Rap Olympics,” an annual national rap battle format competition held in Los Angeles. In this largest battle, the artist took second place, and the organizers paid attention to the talented young man.
