Axwell

DJ
Biography

The five-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist, DJ, producer, and co-founder of both Swedish House Mafia and Axwell Λ Ingrosso took the first step on his journey as a kid in Lund. He discovered a music game on his old school Amiga 500 desktop and unassumingly unlocked his future in the process.
“Where I’m from, it was hard to create a band,” he recalls. “I was so serious with my drums, and I realized the group thing wasn’t going to work out since I lived out in the country. I found that game on the computer, and I felt like I could actually create something for the first time.”
Along the way, he claimed a spot on DJ Mag’s “Top 100 DJs” list nine times and snagged four DJ Awards. Not to mention, he notched three GRAMMY® Award nominations—“Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical” twice for Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition [Axwell & Dirty South Remix] in 2011 and Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl’s “In My Mind” [Axwell Remix] in 2013 as well as “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” for Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones” (which he co-produced).
