Andre 3000

Andre Lauren Benjamin, known by his stage name André 3000 is an American rapper and actor known for being a member of the hip-hop duo Outkast along with Big Boi. In addition to movies and music, André Lauren Benjamin is a business owner and animal rights advocate. In 2008, he first launched his clothing line, which was “modestly” named Benjamin Bixby. In 2013, Complex included Benjamin on its list of the top 10 rappers of the 2000s, and two years later Billboard included the artist on its list of the 10 greatest rappers of all time.

Familiarity with music also began early. As early as 1991, Benjamin, along with his friend Antwan Paton, formed a rapper duo called OutKast. After the rappers graduated from high school, Outkast signed a contract with the La Face label in Atlanta. Actually, the recording of their debut record Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994 took place there as well.

The track Player’s Ball, which was included in the record, determined the further fate of young rappers. By the end of 1994, the compilation went platinum, and Outkast was recognized as the best new rap group of 1995 at The Source awards.
