AC/DC

Rock Group
Biography

AC/DC is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in November 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young.

The world of music is not rich in bands whose hits are familiar to everyone from small to large. Rockers AC/DC were lucky enough to be one of these bands. Their popularity peaked in the 1980s and 1990s, but even now, in the XXI century, no youth rave, no mass event is without Highway to Hell, Thunderstruck and Back In Black.

To this day, the only permanent member of AC/DC remains Angus Young. The name was coined by Margaret Young, the musicians’ sister. A keen needleworker, the girl once saw the AC/DC inscription on her sewing machine. It means “alternating current/direct current.” The performers decided that the acronym would serve as an accurate description of their energetically charged creativity.

In October 2021, the rock collective pleased fans with a new video for the song Through the mists of time. The video was created with animated elements, and also included archival videos from the band’s performances in different periods of its creativity. Thus, a tribute was paid to all those who previously worked in the legendary ensemble.
