Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men is an American R&B band that formed back in 1988. All of the members hailed from Philadelphia. They met at CAPA school and called themselves Unique Attraction. There were five members in the band at that time: they were Nathan Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, Marc Nelson. Nathan and Marc were the founders of the band, and the lineup changed frequently until the guys met Shawn, who was singing in a church choir at the time, and Michael, whom they noticed in the bathroom of the CAPA school. Over time, the guys renamed their creative alliance Boyz II Men.
On February 14, 1991, the guys released their first album called Cooleyhighharmony. The producer of the album was Dallas Austin. The first hits Motownphilly, It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday, Uhh Ahh appeared. The first in the American charts was the song Motownphilly. In 1992 the guys had already received American Music and Grammy awards.
In June of the same year Boyz II Men recorded the single End Of The Road for the movie “Boomerang” starring Eddie Murphy; the song was written by famous producer and composer Babyface. The track instantly became a number one hit and stayed at number one on the Billboard charts for 13 weeks. The group broke Elvis Presley’s record of 30 years. The quartet also won their second Grammy Award for this track, and in 1993 won 3 Soul Train Music Awards.
